Ms. Shannon McCallum (ABI System Navigator for South Eastern Ontario), Dr. Martin Logan (Neuropsychologist Providence Care Community Brain Injury Services) and Ms. Julie Norman (Psychology Intern Providence Care Community Brain injury Services)

Summary:

The objective of the presentation is to provide and introduction to the brain, common issues following brain injury related to cognitive and emotional functioning, as well as provide some of the common difficulties that can arise in a long term care facility when working with someone with a brain injury. A focus will be placed on how best to work with individuals who have sustained a brain injury, especially in “tricky situations”.
